Irish International Goodwill Taikai – 2008

February 1, 2008 |  by Robin Deegan  |  europe, kendo, shiai, world

The Irish International Goodwill Taikai is an annual event that started 8 years ago and has become more and more popular every year since then. For the first few years the event was combined with the Irish National Championships but it has recently got so popular (over 100 competitors this year) that the events have been separated.

The weekend also included a kendo seminar with Yanai Sensei, Kyoshi (now resident in NY), the 3-person shiai itself, a sayonara party, and a grading up to 3dan.

2008 Results: 1st Mumieshi (UK); 2nd Roma (Italy); 3rd Cork and Dublin (Ireland).
