2025 Edinburgh Kendo Seminar

It’s on!

Flight tickets are booked and the venue is set. We still have some details to work out – cost, sayonara party, registration page, and so on – but for all intents and purposes we are a go. If you are interested feel free to go ahead and start making preparations. I will update this sticky postand the official seminar page as things are confirmed.

This year no only will Yano sensei, myself, and Ryuichi be back in Edinburgh, but – for the first time – we are delighted to take a female instructor with us: Hayashi Ryoko sensei. It has been my wish for a while now to find a woman that can join the seminar (in fact I tried to persuade her last year as well) so I am glad I finally managed to make it reality.

Ryoko is a member of her company’s kendo club – a “jitsugyodan” business club – and has known and practiced with me for a few years now. I will updated a better bio of her in the instructors page soon.

Dates: 19+20th July 2025 (seminar)
Location: Meadowbank Sports Centre, Edinburgh
Extra keiko: 18th (Friday) and 21st (Monday)
Instructors: Yano Nobuhiro + George McCall
Assistants: Hayashi Ryoko + Nagaura Ryuichi (+ Andy Fisher maybe)
