March book project 三月の本プロジェクト

As many regular readers already know, I love books, especially kendo books. The older the better. Last October I had a free afternoon and introduced a portion of my book collection on this site. A couple of weeks after seeing the article a sempai of mine got in touch: “I found a bunch of old kendo books in a closet. 2015 in review 2015年に振り返る

Another year done! Unlike the end of last year where I basically didn’t stop kendo, this year I am spending the entire holiday period back home in the highlands of Scotland (where I’m posting this from now). This means that, for the first time in who knows how long, I’m actually taking a couple of weeks of keiko…. I may die! Since I’ve nothing to do here except drink whisky, eat (veggie) haggis, toss cabers, and frolic with sheep, I thought I’d do a wee review of the past year in kenshi 24/7 land. Summer break 里帰り

Just a quick status update – yours truly will be going home to Scotland for 3 weeks over the summer (from Tuesday!) so there will be a break in the regular posting schedule and facebook updates… apologies!! I did intend to write another post this week, but I ended up doing loads of keiko (14 sessions) so I ended up with no time. Oops! Mini update

At the start of 2014 I renewed the website, changing the theme (simplifying) and archiving post of the pre-2013 articles. However, quite a few people got in touch with me (in public and private) to bemoan the loss of those older articles. Bending to this pressure I have re-categorised, reformatted, and re-instated almost all of the older articles in the 2008-2012 range. If you are looking for a particular article and can’t find it, the reason is one of the following: The article wasn’t very good and has been permanently deleted. It is being revised and re-formatted for future publication. …
